👉 Research personas, job titles, keywords, or industries
The foundation of a successful lead search starts with identifying your target audience. Follow these tips to find job titles and keywords that align with your ideal customer profiles.
Find Relevant Job Titles: Look up job titles that represent your target audience. Consider any similar titles or variations in spelling to ensure no important contacts are overlooked.
Identify Useful Keywords: Think about words that match your product, services, audience, or industry. Keep in mind that these keywords must be commonly used in LinkedIn profiles.
Research Industries: If you’re planning to search by industry rather than keyword, make sure to research industry names your ideal leads might use.
Use Lead Search Preview: Test combinations of job titles and keywords with the Lead Search Preview. This helps you gauge potential results and adjust your terms if needed.

Now that you’ve gathered your keywords and job titles, it’s time to set up an efficient lead search. Here’s a step-by-step guide to getting started:
Select Your Target Country: Start by choosing the country where you want to find leads. This filter is important to ensure your results match your target location.
Add Job Titles and Keywords:
Begin with one job title and paste in the list of keywords you’ve researched. Keywords will automatically work with an “or” function, meaning each keyword broadens the search to capture more relevant leads.
Use the “copy” button on the right to quickly duplicate your entry, including all the keywords. Then, simply update the job title to the next one on your list.
Repeat this process for each job title you want to include, up to a maximum of 30 job titles. Each title can have up to 30 keywords, letting you create a comprehensive search.
Name and Start Your Search: To keep your search organized, give it a name that includes the date and target industry or audience. Click Search Leads and set a lead search limit that matches the remaining tokens in your account.

👉 Organize your lead search results
Effective organization helps keep track of your lead searches and ensures you’re always working with the most relevant lists.
Name Your Searches Consistently: Add the date and type of search to the name, so you can easily distinguish between multiple searches, e.g. CMO_Webinar_12072024.
Combine Similar Searches: If you have several searches with similar results, merge them by moving all leads from one list into another. Deleting the empty list.
👉 Qualify your lead search results
After you complete a search, take some time to refine and qualify your results for the best outcomes.
Filter for Precision: Use filters to remove roles that don’t match your target, such as junior positions or internships, to focus on high-value leads.
Request Contact Information: When you’re satisfied with the list, click the Search contact information button to retrieve email addresses of your leads. This may take a while, depending on the list size.
Organize Leads Without Emails: Move leads without email addresses to a separate list, such as “no email found.” You might use these leads for alternative contact channels in the future.
